Founder
I’m Jordy Guillon, owner of Timberline Digital Consulting, a remote technology advisory firm based in Smithers, BC.
My background is in IT, with a focus on security and business technology infrastructure. I work mainly with accounting firms and professional service businesses that need clearer technology direction, but do not need a full-time internal IT leader.
A lot of the owners I work with are already comfortable with technology. They know their tools. They know what’s working. They usually have a clear opinion about what’s not.
The problem is that the technology decisions keep landing back on their plate.
That can mean vendor coordination, security questions, software decisions, staff frustrations, documentation gaps, AI noise, or projects that need someone to keep them moving.
That’s where I come in.
How I Work
I’m not a typical external IT vendor, and I’m not just there when something breaks.
When I’m engaged with a firm, I work more like part of the team. I spend time with the owner, key staff, and vendors to understand what’s actually happening, what’s causing friction, and what needs to change.
The first formal step is usually a current state review. From there, I create a practical technology plan that shows where things stand, what needs attention, what can wait, and what order the work should happen in.
After that, I can help carry the plan forward through vendor coordination, project support, staff adoption, documentation, security improvements, and practical follow-through.
A Bit More About Me
Before starting Timberline Digital Consulting, I spent more than two decades working in IT across different environments, including accounting, government, transportation, and corporate technology.
Outside of work, I’m involved in my community through Scouts, community radio, and Nordic skiing. I also enjoy woodworking, which probably says something about how I approach technology: understand the material, measure carefully, and build something that will actually hold up.
In plain terms, I help bring structure and follow-through to the technology side of the business.
